Never mind the rest of the movie, that line alone is enough to give me nightmares.
Anyway! More experimenting with dissolve mode, my old enemy. I’m pretty pleased with the results I got here—for a gentle, gritty, faded spray paint look, dissolve mode is a treat. At first I tried painting the shading on, but it ended up working a lot better to set a whole fill layer to dissolve, and just remove what I didn’t want. (That is to say, it’s easier to paint light onto a sphere than shadow.)
